The Ministries of ESUMC

Hi, I'm Doreen Ighama, the chair of the ESUMC Church Council.

The Church Council is the administrative board or leadership team of our church.

As Church Council we are responsible for planning and implementing a program of nurture, outreach, witness, and resources.

Here are some examples of ministries within these categories.

Nurture: Worship, Sunday School and Christian education, spiritual formation, small groups and stewardship.

Outreach: Local and global missions, charities and community events.

Witness: Evangelism, hospitality and communications.

We also manage the administration of the church’s organizational and temporal life. The Council is tasked with envisioning, planning, implementing, and annually evaluating the church's mission and ministry. As the administrative agency of the Charge Conference, we ensure that all aspects of the church’s work are aligned with its larger vision.
